It is no real surprise that Brendan Fitzpatrick formed Startup Journey.ie in July 2017. With Brendan’s wealth of international business operational experience, his expert knowledge of new business start-ups and his passion for people development, it was an obvious next step in his career.
Equally passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship, the combination with people development is a powerful incentive to create successful start-ups. Brendan has always believed in both organisation and people development, recognising that effective solutions to a challenge are best achieved with this twin track approach.

With his extensive global business skills, particularly within the highly regulated Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Devices sectors, Brendan has a thorough understanding of the business processes.
A member of Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers (IMCA), Brendan formed Global Supply Chain Management Solutions in 2014, a Consultancy & Training business for Companies and Individuals in end to end Global Supply Chain Operations Management.
He managed Supply Chain functions in major multinationals, including Organon, Mallinckrodt and Omega Omega Pharma/Perrigo. His skills include management of Customer and Supplier relationships, Production & Materials Planning, Global Distribution, Warehouse management, NPI, ERP (SAP) implementations, and Quality Management systems.
A certified Management Consultant, Brendan served on many industry bodies, including the Irish Exporters Association, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, IMDA, and Skillnets. He is CMILT and CPIM certified and he holds a UCD Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Enterprise. A QMS Auditor, he also holds FETAC Assessor and Train the Trainer qualifications.
Brendan is very skilled working with new business start-ups/SME’s through his involvement with Local Enterprise Offices in Dublin & Meath, TCD Tangent, TU Blanchardstown Dublin, NDRC, ISAX Ingenuity Programme, DCU Ryan Academy and UCD Innovation Academy, where he achieved the Victoria Award in for the Most Entrepreneurial Student.
He is a very active volunteer with the Jobnet Programme as a Facilitator & Coach.
Jobnet is an award winning programme developed by Jobcare to address the career development needs of professionally skilled individuals and graduates. The objective is to help them improve their job search skills and build confidence with a view to getting back to work.
He also mentors Jobseekers and Post Graduate Students of TCD Tangent, UCD Innovation Academy on New Business Start-up and career development.
